My Brilliant Chef!!

While I have known that Eric's cooking abilities don't compare with professional chefs or anything I had always thought that they were okay. Last night I was proved wrong. I had to work late but was really wanting to have some Jello (its low-fat and sweet!). Now my husband being as sweet as he is was totally okay with making it when he got home. Having never really made Jello before he looked at the box and saw the first direction and quickly went to work. That night when we went to have Jello, Eric tells me how perfect he made it because the Jello was fairly solid and could totally maintain its shape when moved from one place to the other. The only problem was the lime flavor was just a touch overwhelming! When it comes to cooking, he and I both have a terrible habit of reading the first instruction and then assuming our way through the rest. So minor problems occur such as forgetting that second cup of water! It still worked out but we had to add a lot of whip cream to balance it out (so much for low-fat!).

Or adding too much water and it's like syrup. Jello is one of those dishes that must be made again and again to conquer. Have you seen eggs left to boil and forgotten about? If you do...look up at your ceiling, cause that's where you'll find them splattered. (OH....I'm I showing my lessons from cooking?

Or when your are trying to be a good little house wife and make home made bread for you loving husband to come home to, and you walk away for a second after you've added the yeast to water, I have a picture somewhere, it was actually really cool looking all bubbly and flowing all over the counter!!

Too FUnny! I once made a cake when we were dating, and switched the amount of oil and water. It was slithering around in the pan like a snake. We noticed before we baked it that it looked AWFUL. I had, had too many late nights and didn't read the directions carefully. OOPS! Jill I hope you are feeling good ... post some pictures

Jill, I'm in the library laughing out loud at this! How funny! I hate reading instructions too! Jello does sound good, maybe I should make some soon!
